Why does my power bill fluctuate so much?

I live in a small two bedroom apartment with one roommate. My power bill this month was about $200. Last month it was about $85. The month before it was closer to $100. I don't feel like our habits have changed so drastically in such a short amount of time, but maybe there is something I'm missing?
